Quick FAQ

What if I can't find my doctor?

Try alternate spellings, first or middle initials can make a difference or try searching by the clinic/facility name. If your provider is a PA, search for the doctor’s name that they work under for more accurate results.

How do I confirm in-network?

Match the exact plan or network name on your ID card. When in doubt, it can be helpful to call the provider's office directly and verify your plan is in-network.

What’s the difference between “in-network” and “out-of-network”?

In-network doctors have agreed to your insurance’s pricing, so you’ll pay less.
Out-of-network doctors haven’t, meaning your costs could be much higher (or not covered at all).

Do I need a referral?

It depends on your plan. HMO plans often require a PCP referral to see a specialist. PPO and EPO plans typically do not require referrals in order to see a specialist.

Can I still go to my same doctor if I change plans?

Maybe! Some doctors work with multiple carriers, so it is important to always verify if your doctor will be covered under your new plan.
